How to plan for the future
As a leader of the creative department, one of my responsibilities is to be a "director of new technologies". This means that I spend time identifying new trends and tools that can either be used to increase department productivity, or add value to clients through enhanced capabilities. With responsive design becoming an industry standard, I was tasked to find a way to implement it into Tonic's design and development workflow.
“Unfortunately, no one can be told what The Matrix is. You'll have to see it for yourself.”
I created multi-day workshops with key resources from both design and development departments. These workshops ultimately lead to an internal mock project that would be used inform a findings report to be presented to the agency’s founders. I was responsible for the creation and documentation of the responsive design workflow, including all the data findings / results and infographics.
The process was embraced by the key leadership teams, and it was implemented as the core foundation for the creative and dev collaboration workflow.
